Timothée Chalamet stepped out with his mom at the 2026 Actor Awards as Kylie Jenner skipped the high-profile event this year.
Chalamet has spent the past few months bouncing from one big awards stop to the next, and people have watched almost every step, including who he is with, what he wears, his body language, and how he handles the constant attention. At the 2026 SAG Awards — now called the Actor Awards — on March 1, Chalamet did not have Jenner on his arm. Instead, he brought his mother, Nicole Flender.
The two arrived together at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and posed for photos side by side, with Chalamet keeping sporting a white jacket over a white shirt, styled with black trousers and black shoes. Meanwhile, Flender wore a bright pink strapless dress with a cutout-style detail near the hem and light platform sandals. In the photos, the mother-son duo looked completely at ease as they posed together.

Kylie Jenner skipped the event, but another moment caught everyone’s attention: The Mirror exclusively reported that a lip reader caught what Timothée Chalamet said to his mom while walking the red carpet at the 2026 Actor Awards. Looking down, he reportedly said, “Mind my shoes, these are rented,” according to lip reader Nicola Hickling. This prompted Flender to shift to the side, and Chalamet broke into a grin.
It was like a lighthearted family moment, but the mother-son date did not end with that one line, either. The Mirror reported that Chalamet later handed Flender a rose on the carpet, a small gesture that turned the whole thing into a wholesome experience for the onlookers.
Flender has joined him at major events before. The Mirror noted she also attended the Marty Supreme premiere in New York in December, where she appeared alongside Chalamet and Jenner.

Kylie Jenner’s absence at the 2026 Actor Awards drew attention mostly because she has shown up for plenty of the events with Timothée Chalamet this season. She attended the BAFTAs on February 22, and she has been present for earlier ceremonies where Chalamet won Best Actor.
During his Critics' Choice Awards speech, Chalamet thanked Jenner from the stage. He said, “Thank you to my partner of three years,” adding, “I love you,” and declaring, “I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Moreover, at the Golden Globes, he further included her in his thanks, saying, “For my parents, for my partner, I love you. Thank you so much.”
Chalamet heads toward the Oscars with another Best Actor nod
As for the awards themselves, Timothée Chalamet’s night at SAG put him under high stakes. He competed for Male Actor in a Leading Role for Marty Supreme, but Michael B. Jordan won for Sinners — but with the Oscars set for March 15, the SAG result only adds more pressure and more curiosity about who will take the prize home.
