Taylor Swift Nearly Avoids John Mayer After Paul McCartney Concert

Taylor Swift and John Mayer ended up under the same roof for Paul McCartney’s concert in Los Angeles this weekend, and they were reportedly really close to running into each other — but they did not. The exes attended the concert Saturday night at the Fonda Theatre separately. Notably, the venue offers an up-close setting, which usually means guests have to move through the same spaces and bump into people whether they plan to or not. But that did not happen here — at least not with Swift and Mayer.

Taylor Swift & John Mayer attended the Paul McCartney concert but didn’t cross paths

TMZ exclusively dropped photos showing Taylor Swift inside Paul McCartney’s concert, talking with Olivia Rodrigo and a group of friends, while John Mayer also appeared at the event. Swift looked settled in and focused on the night out, not scanning the room. Meanwhile, TMZ claims that Mayer stayed elsewhere, chatting and mixing with other guests.

But the interesting part was how Swift reportedly avoided any awkward face-to-face moment by leaving through a different exit than Mayer after the concert ended. In a place like the Fonda, most people funnel out the same way, and those last few minutes — when everyone heads for the doors at once — tend to create the exact kind of accidental meeting nobody can control. However, Swift’s exit kept it from happening.

Taylor Swift and John Mayer were romantically linked in 2009, when Swift was 19, and Mayer was 32. After they separated, Swift reportedly wrote her song Dear John about the relationship — a detail that fans still bring up any time their names appear in the same sentence.

This time, both stars showed up for McCartney and kept to their own circles. They did not give the public a moment, and Swift chose the door that kept the night moving along.
