Victoria Beckham Denies Being ‘Pushy’ Amid Feud With Son Brooklyn

For nearly a year now, Victoria Beckham and her eldest son, Brooklyn, have reportedly lived in total silence as they navigate a feud that involves Brooklyn’s wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. The drama hit a boiling point in January when Brooklyn accused his parents of being obsessed with "Brand Beckham" and even trying to ruin his marriage to Nicola Peltz — and now, his mother is telling her side of the story. Victoria did so without directly mentioning Brooklyn, claiming she maintains a very "traditional" home life.

Victoria Beckham fires back at ‘pushy’ parenting rumors as feud with son Brooklyn drags on

Appearing on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Victoria Beckham painted a “traditional” picture of her image as a mom — one that is distinct from what her feud with son Brooklyn Beckham casts in the media. She told host Emma Grede that the family gathers for dinner every night at 6 p.m., provided David is not away for work. But the one strict rule they have is that no phones are allowed, as the family uses that time to discuss their day — because in the fashion mogul’s words, “Being very close is really, really important to us.”

The conversation eventually turned to the elephant in the room — her parenting style. Brooklyn’s recent social media posts painted her as a controlling mother who puts fame before family, but Victoria insisted that is not the case, telling Grede, “We don't put any pressure on our kids.” She added, “We just want them to do what they love and to work hard and to be happy.”

Victoria admitted that parenting has become a whole new challenge now that three of her kids are adults, explaining that she is just "trying to do the best that I can" while the world puts her under scrutiny. When it comes to her younger kids, like Cruz and his music career, she says her only goal is to “support him, to encourage and to help him.” For her, “that's my job as his mom,” instead of “being pushy or forcing.”

Despite Victoria Beckham’s feud with her son Brooklyn, she says her only job is to be “there to support,” even if the family is not currently all on the same page.
