Amid everything, the singer-actor is still taking her time to pause and reflect on what this moment means to her.

Jennifer Lopez says she is in her “Happy Era,” “free” and “joyful”

When Entertainment Tonight asked Jennifer Lopez about having eight more shows ahead and how she is in her “Happy Era,” she confirmed it with, “Yes, I am.”

The interviewer asked JLo what “protecting your joy” looks like in daily life, and Lopez explained that it consists of a lot of small changes, stating, “I call it my Happy Era because for the first time in my life, I feel very free. I feel very joyful.” Moreover, Lopez revealed, “I'm very aware of things that I, you know, have learned along the way. I'm very grateful.”

The singer further clarified, “Just like I just wake up every day with a smile on my face.” For her, “It's a different life now than it was a few years ago.”

Inside JLo’s Las Vegas residency rehearsals

Over at Extra TV, Derek Hough joined Lopez inside rehearsals for the rebooted Vegas run. Lopez appeared eager to get back in front of the crowd as she said, “We're very excited,” adding, “We're doing the show again in Vegas and we're there every weekend in March which is exciting and adding some new songs to the show.”

Lopez described the concert as “the quintessential J.Lo show,” telling Extra, “You see who I am, I think, as not just an entertainer, a performer, but as an artist and as a human.” She added, “I still do all my hits and all the songs that people know me for, but it's really done in a very fresh and exciting way."

Notably, one of the big additions is her new track with David Guetta. She told Extra, “It's been a while since I put out a new song, but David Guetta had this song and I just loved it,” admitting, “It just felt very much of the moment for me.”

And yes, she said her “Happy Era” shows up in the performance, too, telling the outlet, “I'm in my happy era and I have that in the show.”

A busy season for JLo

With everything said and done, Jennifer Lopez revealed why performing is still one of the most important things in her life, even after decades in the business, telling Extra, “I've never looked at it as a job. It's just what I love to do.” In addition, she credited the fans for supporting her “for so many years.”

As the Vegas residency continues, JLo sounds like someone who knows she wants this chapter of her life to be about gratitude and a little more space to breathe.
