Livvy Dunne is swapping leotards for a red one-piece in Baywatch, and she has a very important fan in her corner — her boyfriend, Paul Skenes.
The former LSU gymnast is making her professional acting debut in Fox’s Baywatch reboot, and her boyfriend, the Pittsburgh Pirates ace, is all in, showing that they have a mutual respect for each other’s careers — something that has been a through line for the couple. Dunne said, “Paul has been nothing but supportive of this,” just as an aspiring star would want.

Speaking exclusively to E! News at Fox’s Upfront presentation in New York on May 11, Livvy Dunne didn’t hold back about her boyfriend Paul Skenes’ reaction to her Baywatch casting. Revealing that the pitcher has been “nothing but supportive” through it, she emphasized, “he has his jobs and I have my jobs.” Together, in Dunne’s words, they “want to execute at our best ability no matter what it is.”
The 23-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model admitted the acting gig was a jump into unfamiliar territory, telling the outlet, “I didn’t know exactly what I was getting myself into—neither did my family or Paul.” But she added, “I’ve really learned so much from everybody on set.”
However, Dunne revealed, “I don’t really get nervous for either one. I don’t know why I’ve gotten to the point where I just trust in my training. Whether it’s gymnastics or reading a script and getting used to it.” Nonetheless, she added that gymnastics is “a lot more physically demanding than acting but acting is a challenge in itself.”
Dunne found a tight circle right on set, bonding with co-stars Brooks Nader, Shay Mitchell, and Hassie Harrison, learning from their experience — and as she said, “I would say I’ve learned mostly from the girls on set.” Moreover, Livvy Dunne said it was “a real joy” to be around her co-stars on the set of Baywatch, “watching how they work every single day, their work ethic, how they go about their day” — all while Paul Skenes had her back from afar.
The Baywatch reboot is set to premiere in January 2027.
