The word on the street this weekend is that Taylor Swift and Blake Lively have patched things up just in time for Swift’s upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce. But a new report has learnt that the gossip is nothing more than a “folklore” — and despite reports claiming Swift offered an olive branch and a seat at her ceremony, a source claims there has been no reconciliation phone call between the former best friends.
Taylor Swift's reconciliation rumors with Blake Lively are not true, claims source
The decade-long bond between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, which made Swift godmother to Lively’s three daughters, hit a roadblock last year. Unsealed court documents from Lively’s legal fight with Justin Baldoni exposed private messages where Lively called Swift one of her “dragons” while pushing for script changes on It Ends With Us. Swift did not appreciate Lively dragging her into the public mess without warning, and their friendship reportedly took a backseat.
However, in recent weeks, tabloids speculated that Swift had a change of heart. The Daily Mail quoted an insider saying the two “have spoken on the phone” and that Swift extended a wedding invite, and another source claimed, “Blake is on the cusp of getting a second chance, and they have had some loose conversations to test the waters to get the trust back.” This story suggested Lively even had a dress ready and was under pressure to attend because “her image is very important to her.”
But Entertainment Tonight has pumped the brakes on that narrative, with a source claiming there has been no phone call and no invitation, while the so-called olive branch does not exist. Notably, when Swift reportedly hosted a girls’ gathering at her Rhode Island mansion — widely believed to be her bachelorette party — Lively did not attend. Instead, cameras spotted the Gossip Girl star shopping solo in New York.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding ceremony, heavily rumored for July 3 at New York’s Madison Square Garden, reportedly features a guest list that is strictly drama-free — and right now, Blake Lively is allegedly not on it.
