Federline, through his attorney, offered support to Spears. But he also questioned if this was a one-time mistake or another warning sign. Meanwhile, the Toxic hitmaker’s ex-husband, Sam Asghari, spoke publicly, too, urging fans, the media, and the general public to give Spears some space to process everything.

Inside Britney Spears’ DUI arrest and ex-husbands’ reactions

Per the BBC, Britney Spears’ DUI arrest happened on late Wednesday night. Authorities detained Spears in California after a report of unsafe driving on the US-101, pulling her over after witnesses described her driving as erratic and fast. The police reportedly noted signs of impairment and had her do field sobriety tests. Later, the pop star went through blood testing as part of the DUI process.

Ventura County records show that she was arrested around 9:28 p.m. PT and released early Thursday morning, with a court date set for May 4, as per the county sheriff’s records.

Kevin Federline is supportive but concerned

Kevin Federline has not made a direct on-camera statement on the arrest. However, his attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan spoke to TMZ and said Federline wants Spears to be okay, and wants her to accept help if she needs it. Kaplan told the outlet, “Kevin hopes for the best for Britney.” He added, “If help is necessary, he hopes that she will neither resist it or those who are attempting to work with her.”

Additionally, Kaplan claimed that he and Federline have talked since the arrest, but they only know what has been reported publicly, while raising the bigger worry behind the news, telling TMZ, “The concern is whether this is just a one off or a one more.”

Sam Asghari believes Spears “deserves privacy”

Meanwhile, Sam Asghari addressed the arrest during a Fox News appearance, keeping his remarks short. He said, “When it comes to people making mistakes, I understand that, but I think everybody deserves privacy,” adding, “And I hope the press has learned from the past [and] that they give her the privacy that she needs.”

Spears plans to comply & her family wants a plan

Britney Spears’ representative acknowledged the seriousness of the DUI arrest in a statement shared with the BBC. They said, “This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” adding, “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life.”

Furthermore, Page Six reported that a source described Spears’ feelings during booking. They claimed, “She was incredibly emotional,” adding, “She doesn’t want to let anyone down, including her fans.”

Her manager, Cade Hudson, echoed that message in a statement to the outlet, saying, “Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time,” adding that her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, will be “spending time with her” and that people close to her are “going to come up with an overdue, needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”
